Teen+Therapy

When did life become so hard?

You worry day in and day out about your teenager.  It seems like all of your friends’ kids have transitioned smoothly into high school, but your child is floundering.  No, worse, your child is now refusing to go to school, has dropped out of sports and extracurricular activities and has begun to withdraw from the family.  Your teenager spends all weekend alone, either sleeping or binge watching shows on Netflix.

You were so worried about your teen’s complaints of chronic stomach aches and headaches that you made a doctor appointment.  The doctor told you that there is nothing physically wrong and encouraged you to find a therapist who works with teens who are struggling with anxiety and depression.

You’re not sure where to turn at this point, but you know things cannot go on like this.

You realize you can’t fix this on your own - you’ve tried for months and things are getting worse.  You know that you and your teen both need some help.

We help anxious and depressed teens learn how to better manage the social and academic demands of the middle and high school years.  We provide a safe and supportive environment for teens to talk about their difficulties and to learn better ways to handle feelings of stress, anxiety and depression.

All of the therapists at Farmington Valley Counseling Center have extensive experience working with teens.  We have a deep understanding of the social and emotional challenges associated with adolescence and we really love helping teens learn skills and strategies to feel better!

If you are ready to move from feeling fearful about your teen’s future to having a plan and a process that works for you and your child, call today to find out how we can help.
